Culinary adventures with Moriji and Bhargav 0

I’m a big fan of Room of King. Mo blogged about it here. Even though I probably wouldn’t be able to understand a thing without the subtitles that I MUST have, I’ve been hooked on it, and unfortuantely can’t go beyond the fifth episode. The plot revolves around nine strangers who’re brought together by three shady real estate agents who work together in an agency that’s quite literally the size of a closet. It’s fantastic though, because they bring together people from all walks of life. And the characters’ interactions with each other are absolutely hilarious.

Beyond that, they also have some interesting culinary experiences. One of the main characters, Jiro, likes ketchup. So much so that he calls himself a “ketchupa”:

So Jiro makes himself a sandwich with eggs, ketchup, and bread. When I first saw  it, it didn’t look…appetizing:

So tonight, I was hungry and as such was looking through my pantry and fridge for anything that looked remotely appetizing.  When I couldn’t find anything, I remembered the dish that Jiro made and made my own attempt at it:

I wanted to make an egg, sunny side up. But the yolk broke :c So I decided to fry it instead, hopefully Moriji won’t smite me for this:

Almost done:

I toasted bread too! Moriji would not be pleased:

And buttered. I’m going to suffer from congestive heart disease:

So I like my eggs with some flavor. And I was afraid that the ketcup wouldn’t add enough. I salted and peppered one side of the egg before putting it on and adding ketcup. Also, SMILEY FACE!

Anddddd the finished product:

So surprisingly, it was pretty good! I couldn’t taste enough of the ketchup to notice it so I should note to add more next time. I should lose the butter. It didn’t exactly add much to the taste. It’s also missing the ham and cheese.

In short, Jiro would not be pleased; but I damn well am :D

The badassery levels of Gundam 0

Let me be honest here…

I’ve always enjoyed Gundam. Whether or not the series sucked (like Gundam Seed or Gundam Seed Destiny) never detered me from watching it. Why? Giant fucking robots. Take a human, put him into a giant metallic suit and have him duke it out with other similarly sized and overwhelmingly underpowered giant metallic suits and you’ve got an instant classic. The good guys ALWAYS triumph over evil because they’ve got the advantage of technology, and whether it be Gundam Wing’s “Gundanium” alloy metal, Gundam SEED’s “SEED” system or Gundam 00’s weird “GN particles”, just seeing the crap being beat out of evildoers makes my heart race because there’s usually a lot of yelling and drama involved. Gundam in short, is one of the most badass animes I’ve ever seen.

But I’ve always remained convinced that the badassery levels of the series is a function of the badassery of its title characters. Take Setsuna F. Seiei. I don’t even know what the F stands for, but he’s the ultimate hero. Quiet and to the point, he won’t take no for an answer – he’ll just kill you. The ultimate badass! And he’s like 13 years old in the first season. Verdict: Badass!

Quite the badass, right?

Next up comes Gundam Seed’s protaganist. We can equate him to an emo kid with the trigger though, as throughout the series he’s frequently going insane because he doesn’t know what to do. Poor him, eh? Not at all. I hate him with a passion. Does nothing but complain about how nobody sees his point of view, when his point of view is probably the least valid. That didn’t stop me from sitting through both 50+ episode seasons of the series though. Verdict: Weaksauce!

Why do glazed over eyes equate to compassion?

And lastly, Heero Yuy, from Gundam Wing. I’m not quite sure about his badassery though, as the last time I watched the series was about 5 or 6 years ago. He doesn’t hesitate to kill though! Which I guess compensates for something, right? Not to mention those eyes, they’re pretty menacing. Verdict: Badass!

Not really a badass.

I may need to assign badassery values to all the characters in each series and plot graphs. I have this feeling that it may be a giant parabola!

A blog, oh my! 0

Well, hopefully this one stays longer than all the previous ones I’ve had. I’m still messing around with the configuration on tumblr, but so far so good. It was a lot easier to install than wordpress and I suppose I should be happy about that. Updates and news to follow!
